Description

The lake in this picture is named after a event from the viking age.

In the fjord where i live every little place had to have a vikingship ready in case of an attack or invasion during the viking age, the people living furthest out on the coast where of corse the once who would discover enemies first. To signal the rest of the people in the fjord to gather the fleet, they would fire up a huge bonefire on the topp of a mountain, then when people saw it they would fire up a bonefire on their mountain. This would continue all the way in the fjord and everyone with a ship would sail to aid their friends in the fight.

(you can see a good example of this kind of communication in Lord of the Rings ..Gondor calls for help.. ...Rohan answers..)

Now to the point: This place is called "Gloføk" or "Gloføykje" which means something like "flying-ember" so the lake is called "Flying-ember lake" after a time they had to "light the beacon" and the ember from the beacon where blown out over this lake.

so there you go... a little pice of history for you, hope you liked it. :-)

PS. the big pointy mountain is Called Hornelen and is northen Europe's tallest sea-cliff.
